Note that ‘gnus-alias’ is not included in the Melpa Stable
archive (which has roughly half the number of packages as
Melpa).
When recommending packages to new, inexperienced Emacs
users, it would be a good idea to tell (warn?) them that
they are using packages that have not yet been deemed
"stable".
(add-to-list 'package-archives
'("melpa-stable" . "https://stable.melpa.org/packages/") t)
(Needless to say, that has not stopped Emacs users from
using Melpa instead of Melpa Stable. Melpa has over 400
million downloads, while Melpa Stable has about 9 million
downloads. It is impossible to know whether the users of
Melpa are mostly downloading the sub-set of packages in
Melpa Stable.)
