The 2 yr agreement with Secure Computing SmartFilter will be expiring the
end of June. Currently I have 7 districts with about 2200 workstations
licensed. If we renew the subscription before March 20th we can get a three
year agreement for the price of a two year agreement.

The cost would be $9.15/workstation. If we can get above 5000 workstations
then the cost would drop to $8.00/workstation. The first agreement was
negotiated at a state level and the company gave us their highest quantity
price break. The districts in Arrowhead AEA were the only districts to
participate in the state. This accounts for a significant portion of the
price increase.

SmartFilter is a software based filter that will run on several different
platforms. Our license agreement allows an unlimited number of servers to
run SmartFilter to serve the number of licensed workstations. This means
that each district can setup their own filter server. I will be more than
happy to answer any technical questions about the product via phone or
email.

If you are using the Sonicwall for filtering and have been disappointed in
its performance you may want to look at this product as well. Secure
Computing as also purchased N2H2. If your district currently is using the
BESS filter for N2H2 the above pricing will also cover that product.
Although I am unsure about the future of the BESS product.

Please contact me if you have any questions.
