[info-tech] board policy - Internet use

For years now, we have had a board policy requiring parents to read and sign before their student is allowed access to the Internet.  It is again up for review this week and I am just wondering if something like this is outdated.  Since the Internet and network use has grown over the years to the extent that it is almost a requirement of students to use in order to complete built-in to course requirements, research, online courses, etc., I am wondering if the board policy could be dropped entirely.  Are any other school districts changing this policy if they have it?   Manson Northwest Webster-Home of the Cougars!
