I agree to some extent, however actual thin client devices are now at
the $200.00 mark or below, have no hard drive to maintain, can't get a
virus, etc. Actual thins give a better experience to the user. Kids
don't have to pick a PC in the Media Center that runs fast enough for
them. The point of management is the server(s) not 50 PCs. It is still
worth evaluating for areas where research and MS-Office is largely used.

We used to have a terminal server setup at the HS and older machines as
clients. But the old machines were always breaking down. With the state
contact and the price of a new PC at $465 w/3 year warranty and an OS
license I think it makes these solutions less attractive. My two cents
worth...
