Mark,

I've gotten this to go on several distros, but not without some effort.
I have read about this utility
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ActiveDirectoryWinbind-SADMS#head-cca3
e1355244f527b9228affa578776ce7442665

This is graphical and looked pretty easy to use. I have not used it yet,
but it may be worth a try. From what I read it is supposed to do, it
would be a lot easier than editing all of those config files.

Another issue I have found is the whole organizational 'paths' to the
different users containers in AD. Ended up using Softerra's LDAP Browser
to get the correct 'paths' figured out.

If you do use this SADMS let me know how it works, as I play around with
different distros of Linux quite often.

Thanks,

Subject: [info-tech] Configuring Ubuntu to connect to Windows 2003
domain

I have installed Ubuntu on a couple computers and I am trying to
get them to logon to our Windows 2003 domain. I am new to Ubuntu and
haven't had any luck making it work so far. Any ideas to make it work?

If anybody is currently doing this I would be interested in any
pros or cons.

Have a Great Thanksgiving.

Mark
