Just an FYI We now have a "LocalHost" server for United/Discovery Education Streaming content. All districts in Prairie Lakes, and Northwest AEA will now pull their video content from our server in Fort Dodge. This change is transparent to your users. For school districts using ICN as their Internet Service Provider should see faster load times. For districts that have other Internet Service Providers you may also see faster video response times depending on their distance to the ICN.
Also two districts have setup in-house "LocalHost" servers. Comments from one district have included "Videos play immediately, no waiting for "Buffering" to complete. If you have a lot of United/Discovery streaming traffic in your building you may want to consider Installing your own internal LocalHost equipment. There is a 1 time $600 setup fee, plus a web server at your site with 2-4 Tb of storage on a single drive. I believe there are NAS solutions for $1000-$1500 that will give you the required storage space.
