But when I try setting the bits per sec to 9600 I can read what is
coming up on the screen. But when I hit the enter key twice when it
tells me I get no keyboard response.

Mitch,

You need to configure your HyperTerminal session with the following
settings,

Bits per second - 19200

Data bits - 8

Parity - None

Stop bits - 1

Flow control - Xon/Xoff

After you have established your HyperTerminal session to the HP Switch
hit the Enter key twice.

I'm looking for help with HyperTerminal. I'm trying to connect to our
H.P. 4208vl switches through the serial port and I'm not have much luck
at it. I can't get any keyboard response when it boots up. Anyone got
any help out there please let me know.

thanks
