I can't reference the exact source... been awhile. I know it was from an educator's guide for evaluating the use of technology in schools. 5:1 and 9:1 were averages in different areas of the nation and do recall that 4:1 was the goal. Really your call, I don't know if there is anything set in stone. Depends on your budget and how much student accessibility you would like. We are at the following ratios: High School = 5:1 Middle = 4:1 Elementary = 3:1 but then we are a small school district of only 1300 students.
