Hit "print screen" to capture desktop image, then paste into MSPaint and edit
to appropriate size and save as a .ico file.
This may not be simplest way, but you can make an icon from anything on
screen. I've used it often and even have one icon thats a pic of my daughter
=)

<< Does anyone know how to create .ICO files from icons embedded in
executables? I was wondering, because I got a great shell extension for
windows that gives extended info on MP3s. It also changes the icon used to
an icon based on the bitrate. You can customize this, but only by giving it
an alternative .ICO file. What I want to do is use the old winamp default
MP3 icon for all MP3s encoded at 128, so that any that are encoded at higher
and lower bitrates stand out more. The problem is, that icon is embedded in
winamp.exe.
I hope that made sense to all (or at least some) of you.
TIA,
Alex Richardson
