Rita, If your PII-266 "blew away" a Celeron 500, then something (besides the
processor) is wrong with Celeron-based machine. In most respects, a C-500
comparably configured and set up, etc., would perform nearly twice as fast
as the PII for processor-dependent tasks. "Processor-dependent" means I'm
not counting any specific bottle-necks, such as disk I/O, memory size or
speed... but the processing "power" should be roughly proportional to the
processor speed for those  two chips.
