little as I've been on and as little as I know, one of the only ways to know that you
are infected without doing a constant anti-virus scan, and without knowing that your
system has started to act 'funny' is to have your own e-mail address in your own
address book in a location where, if, an infection happens to occur in your own
system, then an e-mail will be sent to yourself with the infection attached. A lot has
been said about "50 " addresses will only be sent out. That may, or may not, be true.
Many virii send out to ALL the addresses in your address book!!!!!!
By having your own address in your address book will give the first hint to an
infection. The 10,000 or 1'000 or 0000 address doesn't do any good.........the
infection has already gone out and you may, or may not have received a notice that
something was "un" deliverable.

It's a rumor/hoax/myth. Can't recall where I found it but the
article stated it wouldn't work. Might have been about.com or
other urban legend site but I know I found it on several sites.
