This new application platform will allow lightweight desktop applications to be built and deployed via familiar web technologies including Flash, HTML, and PDF. As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the Apollo team in Adobe Romania. The team will be focused on improving and validating the HTML and Ajax support in Apollo. You have to be a highly technical person, with people management skills and some product management know-how. You should be very knowledgeable about web technologies and the IT industry in general. You must be customer-focused, have good communication skills, and be able to communication a strong vision to your team. Above all, you must be enthusiastic, view challenges as opportunities, and collaborate well with the other engineering managers, customers and product management team-members. Engineering will report directly to you and you will be solely responsible for meeting development schedule and quality goals. Your will be required to work with the various internal disciplines in delivering the projects on schedule and on budget. You will also be required to engage with the other team members (locally or remotely) to make sure you correctly understand their needs when working together. *Knowledge & Skills:* · Typical Education, Experience and Knowledge Level. · Industry-related BS degree. · 6-8 years experience in the web and desktop industry. · prior experience in growing small teams, working with large code bases, coordinating multiple projects and products. · Strong Ajax skills (platforms, frameworks). · Java and/or Desktop programming experience. · Experience building and deploying web applications with at least two server technologies (PHP, .NET, Ruby, JSP, etc). · Strong HTML, JavaScript, CSS knowledge. · Good knowledge of SQL and experience with Database Management Systems (MySQL, MsSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc).
