Dave,

I believe that file is strictly a IMS maintained file and not a SQL datatype. But upon further reflection, I see you mentioned a "Qeng20070517.log" file. I am not familiar with this file, perhaps I am running an older version of IMS than you. All of my IMS logs start with "SMTP","POP", "iSch" or "POST". Are you sure this is an IMS log file?

attempt to fix this sort of thing.

What sort of table engine are you using? "myisamchk" might be your friend.
