Howie, after more discussions, this also may have something to with PC Virus scanners. What appears to be happening in some cases is that a persons PC is auto pulling email down, but occasionally the virus checker will pop up asking to quarantine etc the email. This popup just sits there waiting for a person to respond. When the person does respond (some minutes later) then the next I/O to the IMS POP Server fails with a timeout. The person then checks email and retrieves another set. What sometimes then happens is that IMS/Fusionmail is confused as to what is going on as it will say that there are NNN number of messages to download, but there are really only a small number. IMS will then respond back with those emails, then IMS issues another error indicating that a particular msg does not exist.


This happens with an Eudora client (v.[very recent]), unknown about Outlook {express}.

The way FM is supposed to work is that each time a client deletes an email file it checks to see if there are any other owners of the email (a single mail file may be owned by multiple recipients).
