Hi Ismael, well i' m digging out this somewhat old mail now.
Do you have a status of initng 0.7.0? We now did our release with the old sysvinit, but planning for the new onw is on its way. I'm still searching for a solution and now one needs to be chosen within the next few days. There are 2 possibilities.... upstart and initng. BTW, i like yours more, but development seems to be stuck somehow. I know, you are mostly doing this all alone. My problem for now is that if switching to initng and it is dead in about half a year... i need to switch over to something else again. Did you had time to look into that splash thing too? > El Tue, 5 Feb 2008 08:04:43 +0100 > Christian Metzen <[email protected]> escribió: > >> > >> > I haven't tried any of them, but I guess whatever you choose you >> > will need a way to tell it the progress, so a new plugin is needed. >> > It should be easy, as it's only a subset of the cpout plugin. >> >> Well, tells me that it should be possible with that or does it need >> to be altered? > > It needs a little modifications, I could do them some weekend, I only > need to get an idea of how to interact with the splash program, but I'm > sure it will not take too much. > >> > >> > You may want to look at the splashout plugin: >> > http://www.initng.org/browser/under_construction/splashout >> > >> > The code is somewhat old... >> >> Yes, 3 years, i see. >> >> Hoped there would be already something, but all this seems to be >> rather new to distribution defaults.
