- We can make improvements :) The photos are quite good (and the one
with the 3D glasses is really funny), having them in full width looks
right to me.

- No animals, just things I choose to work on because I find them
interesting and/or really important for the project.

- Glad you're asking :)

- It's this:
https://github.com/fablabnbg/inkscape-centerline-trace/blob/master/README.md

Just that it's currently still only accessible as that Inkscape
extension, but is planned to be included into Inkscape as a real part of
the trace dialog. The autotrace libraries are there already in the
Inkscape source, but not used.

- It's more 'CI for translation files'. So automatical updating of pot
and po files without requiring a dev to run the update script and commit
them.

- I haven't seen it yet, it's still in a separate branch that Tav is
working on. As I understand that sentence, it means that you click, type
your text, and then can use a handle to change its width and height and
it will reflow into the changed shape.

- Conversion from SVG2 text to SVG 1.1 text and the other way around.

The Inkscape development version supports some of the features that will
(hopefully) be in SVG2 already, even though the SVG2 standard is not
officially released yet.

Export/compatibility to 1.1 text is needed because other renderers may
not be able to read SVG2 text properly (yet). Fortunately, having that
compatibility can be achieved by just having the SVG2 text specifics
wrapped around the SVG 1.1 text, and each version will ignore the
specifics for the other version.

- Origin in Inkscape is now in left upper corner, as it always was in
browsers, CSS, HTML, game development and most other digital imagery
applications (and in SVG). Before the merge, it was in bottom left
corner. Thomas fixed issues with 3D boxes and paint bucket, among other
things.
