You theologise, you pontificate, you state your case - and you still condemn!! You are nothing but a bunch of homophobic male - and I stress the word male - right wing - so called Christians!!
Have you any idea what your comments on the Insight list are saying to a gay Christians such as myself? Do you care that there are many, many gay and lesbians in the Uniting Church who only want to be part of the Christian Community and to offer their gifts and graces to celebrate their God given right to minister
You are insensitive - you are condemning and - in my assessment - are as the Pharasees. My sexual preference is none of your concern. Their is no - and I Stress the NO - Biblical condemnation of same sex relationships. Get your facts right!! You chose to determine, from your own sexual bias, what is right - what is God ordained - Your exegisis of Scripture is flawed - you only want to interpret the Hebrew Scriptures - and I use them as the basis because that is where the debate originates from - in your own terms.
OK I've had my say and no doubt I'm going to get many anti gay comments - So what? When you have been vilified, spat upon, put up with the crap of Mary Squarks and the RA and EMU, you don't worry any more. But I have the right to put my point - just as you do!

The relationship exists as cause and effect. A sexual orientation is the cause
of sexual behaviour.
The modern plea for compassion for those who engage in homosexual behaviour is
that their behaviour arises from a sexual orientation determined in the womb.
Thus, while the majority of the population find at puberty that they are
orientated towards those of the opposite sex as hormones act upon the brain, the
person of homosexual orientation finds that he is sexually attracted to people

help it. He or she is "made" that way. It is a congenital condition. Thus some
of those who see homosexual behaviour as wrong in and of itself, can
nevertheless accept the behaviour of an individual homosexual person, but not

Now some people seem to assume that if homosexual behaviour is between two
individuals in a committed relationship, that fact will make it morally
acceptable. This argument will not convince the person opposed to the ordination
of homosexually active people. Consider a parallel. Some men may have a sexual
orientation to a sheep. But living in a committed relationship to a particular
sheep will not make the relationship morally acceptable. Those opposed to the
ordination of active homosexuals are likely to see things in the same way.
