I am experiencing this same problem right now, except I get the "green
light" for the 10 on my card. I'm using kernel 2.2.1 with pcmcia 3.0.9.
'cardctl' returns optimistic messages. I'm guessing I have something
configured wrong in the Network Configurator. I did notice that the
instructions I used to recompile the kernel, etc. said to change the
memory allocation for the card. When I'm booting up, I get an error
saying that memory section cannot be used. But somehow I doubt this is
the problem I'm having.

Also i forgot to mention i'm using Redhat 5.2 with kernel 2.2.1 and
pcmcia 3.0.8. I have tried it with kernel 2.0.36 and pcmcia 3.0.8, but
I get the same result no matter what kernel i use.
