When I tried to upgrade from b65 to b75 I had a failure during the checking phase of the upgrade.
After examining the upgrade_log file I found the following text embedded in it. Installation of <SUNWnisr> was successful. Doing pkgadd of SUNWaudiohd to / 192 blocks drvconfig: modctl failed to add major number binding. Error 0 drvconfig: modctl failed to add major number binding. Error 0 drvconfig: modctl failed to add major number binding. Error 0 pkgadd: ERROR: postinstall script did not complete successfully Has anyone got any idea as to what could be the cause of this? I removed the SUNWaudiohd package from my b65 install and installed the SUNWaudiohd package from my b75 DVD and both the install and new driver worked perfectly. In fact the b75 audiohd driver appears better than the b65 driver. I then tried reinstalling b75 hoping that because the b75 audiohd driver was already installed the upgrade process would skip it. It didn't and I got the same problem. Any ideas anyone? Neil This message posted from opensolaris.org
