So, if JAVA is only being used for the GUI, and isn't part of the slow response
issues, is it perhaps part of the large memory requirement? If not, what is? I
can't see the (Open)Solaris miniroot taking up more memory than the SUSE-based
JDS used running GNOME, Netscape, and Scribus all at once. Yet, OS won't even
start installing ("not enough memory") on the hardware I previously ran JDS on.
This is not so much a complaint as curiousity. Part of improving the install
"experience" is knowing how and why the current version fails (and I consider
this a failure).
