I must get terribly boring. I got my upgrade to snv_47 to work in
the end after de-configuring SVM. And reconfiguring SVM after the
upgrade. I am now attempting to update to snv_48, however the
problem with Live Upgrade and metadevices still exists:

mount: /dev/md/dsk/d10 write-protected
ERROR: Cannot mount boot slice </dev/md/dsk/d10>. Cannot update GRUB
menu
ERROR: Unable to delete GRUB menu entry for boot environment <snv_48>.
ERROR: Cannot make file systems for boot environment <snv_48>.

# metastat -p d0
d0 -m /dev/md/rdsk/d10 /dev/md/rdsk/d20 1
d10 1 1 /dev/rdsk/c1d0s0
d20 1 1 /dev/rdsk/c2d0s0

It correctly identifies c1d0s0 as being the boot device, but trying
to identify the logical device that needs mounting to modify menu.lst
stops at the submirror. It updates /etc/lu/GRUB_slice with the bad
information. See my previous mails.

I was looking at reporting it via the opensolaris bug reporting tool,
to make sure the right people know. But LiveUpgrade not being open
source, but "just" part of Solaris Express I'm not sure if that's the
right place to report this? Should I? Which category?

and now off to remove those metadevices again! - mo
