Thanks Alan for the quick response.
I have all icons on the desktop but traced back to soffice(/usr/soffice)
that its link is broken, and when I looked at its linked equivalent, the
staroffice7 directory is not there (/usr/staroffice7/..).
This is the first time I have installed this version of the Solaris,
previous one, 11/06, did not have this problem.
The only difference was that I ordered free DVDs for 11/06 and
downloaded the 8/07version and burned myself. So i thought it was my
wrong doing but I can see the package you have mentioned.
Can I run postinstall script, now?
Thank you again.

Where I can learn about those things, without trying to guess or go to a
forum or expensive courses.?
I LOVE Solaris, it is such a cool OS but it is not easy to understand.
For example the networking, I can get to work through DHCP but I wanted
to have static name and IP address and be able to talk to other windows
Pcs and MAC10.9.
David
