fwiw we are using them with a Windows DHCP server without problems.   
Yes, they are standard.  Yes, the windows admins don't really  
understand what we (Unix guys) are doing with those reservations (i.e.  
are unfamiliar with them) but gladly enough, happily accept them. I  
count myself lucky.
