Hi again, I did a few more tests:
I set the hardware clock of the PC to America/Los_angeles time ( PDT ) An Install run with B67 selecting Europe/Sweden as the Locale/Location then sets the Time CORRECTLY. Now, This is not going to work in the real world. The average Joe somewhere in the world is not going to have his PC hardwarclock set to PST/PDT When one installs Linux or FreeBSD one always get the question if the PC hardware clock is set to UTC/GMT or if its set to Local time. Seems like you need to add that question to the installers dialouges, and then take the correct decision. When I start a dtterm in the installer CDE , and run "date" it clearly states that the assumed timezone is PDT. If the assumed timezone was UTC instead it might be easier for non-californians to realize whats going on. :-) //Lars This message posted from opensolaris.org
