A few clarifications: 1. recommended patches cluster is done with finish script, but there many other 3rd party ones ( Veritas et al.) needs to be installed afterwards including patches, mirroring, and rebooting. So they have to be done with RC scripts.
2. What I am talking about is the automatic reboot after the installation, which no manual intervention is needed at all. So you don't type "reset -all" after it. 3. I did change boot-command to "boot -m verbose", with no success. 4. Before the system does the first reboot, SMF is not even there, so it's still an installation issue.
