Would probably be a good idea to centralize it.

I'm completely convinced we need a live install, IOW, where a live cd boots 
for the install, as ubuntu does. It seems to make so much sense to have a 
complete OS booted without anything tied to the hard drive, so that anything 
can be done to that drive during the install.
