Ah yes (that'll teach me to respond to mail so early in the morning).  I
presumed that you were thinking about installing 'outside' of vmware.

What Eric says is of course correct.  Installing inside of vmware,
nothing will get written to the 'actual' physical disk.  Merely the
virtual disk that vmware creates.
