Though it's now two months that this thread has been quiet, I feel I really
need to
respond to Mike's post:

And you yourself have spoken such true words. ;-) I do absolutely agree
with you.
My impression is that many Sun customers know these examples and I have
experienced some which do very closely match yours.

... and this is absolutely what I am trying to achieve. I am repeating myself,
but the point really is that I feel that if I take the time to fix something
which theoretically Sun should have to fix (as I am a customer paying for a
contract), I don't want to go through the support channel just to get my own
contribution across to someone.

In particular, regarding the diskless stuff I had opened the thread for, the
contributions are, in most cases, regarding patches, and patches don't exist
for Opensolaris, so there is absolutely no official channel besides support
cases.

Coming back to where we were, I was hoping to get an email from someone saying
"here I am, please send me you fixes, I'll open CRs for you". I did, in fact,
receive some very good and very friendly private replies regarding this thread,
so I definitely wont complain about the feedback. But, so far, I have not found
the person I am looking for.

So, what I did today was, again, open a service case to get my contrib into
Sun. At least, this channel does work in the end.

Thanks for listening, Nils
