It won't let me in. I'm not sure it's even responding to the packets. I
can ping it though. I'll have to look at it more later.

It didn't seem to. It seems that X is still urning hte same res. and
depth as it was before. I'm not sure if the video driver can override
the BIOS later or not.
I switched to a faster DVD drive, and that seems to have improved perf a
little.
but between that and the memory change the only difference is it hangs
at 46% now.
The DVD drive and the hard disk seem to still be working very hard
though. So I think I'll let it run all weekend, and we'll see what happenns.
