Hi Dave, I can post pdo.c code right here myself if it is OK - actually libpdo and pdo.c code. I redeveloped it a bit last year working on packaging-patching improvements (mutual dependency, recursive patching - I was really busy last year also) and it is far away from what it is right now in workspace. It is not only recursive patching from disk and over https and also new super fast Solaris upgrade (made with same pdo technology - I showed you working demo year ago at Febrary as I remember) but it is not single code any more but pdo-library etc. - fortunately, I had more then 4 month to make code look better.
The Recursive Patching over https will be big step forward for patching I think as well as new upgrade algorithm which may increase upgrade between releases three times - we had this discussion February, remember. I think upgrade may actually be faster then patching or comparable in speed, it may be considered as an alternative to KU jumbopatches. I think while Install team busy with more important things, OpenSolaris Community may have a look at least at that code and may be even finish that work, hopefully. I think just with this improvement less people will start asking for "making it same as in Linux". vassun This message posted from opensolaris.org
