Hi, My Sun Blade 150 is currently running Solaris 10 11/06. I'm now trying to install N55b from DVD. The DVD boots OK and I get to answer all installation questions, right up to the final "Summary" screen. When I click "Next" I get a progress Window which says "Initializing installation 0%". Nothing ever happens beyond this point.
The mouse still works. I can close the installation window and from a shell I can run "install-solaris" to begin the installation procedure again. So I know the box hasn't crashed. I've tried loads of different options including clean install, upgrade, preserve existing data, keep disk layout the same (6GB OS and the rest for /export/home) and just having one big 40GB / partition. None of the options seem to make any difference. I'm using the normal Sun mouse, but the keyboard is a PC keyboard going through a Belkin screen switch and a Belkin sun adapter. I can't believe this is the cause... but can swap it out for the real Sun keyboard if required. I'm fairly happy that the DVD is OK because I used Nero to burn the DVD and verified the burn. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try next?? In the meantime, I'm going to try n54 to see if the same happens. Thanks Simon Bond This message posted from opensolaris.org
