I'm not sure BFU archives are what you're really after, because they 
only update the core OS and networking components, and not any of the 
other pieces of the system.  They're really most appropriate for 
testing, and not so much for long-term maintenance of the system.  Also, 
you have to have done an installation first just to use them, which it's 
not clear from you mail above that you have done.

You're likely to be better off installing and setting aside a spare disk 
slice for use with Live Upgrade.  That way you can upgrade yet retain 
the ability to fall back to the older version without having to 
reinstall if there's a bug that gets in the way of your use of the 
system.  You can't do any of that with BFU.
