Jumping's not for me. I'm more into finding a short cut to get round a barrier rather than jumping over it. Or drilling a hole and tunnelling through. There are ways I can see to shave maybe another 10% of the total install time. (By that I means that there are things I could fix myself - I don't currently have the technical ability to fix the smf import problem, which would have more of an impact.) The one other thing that would be interesting would be to see what difference installing to zfs makes. I am both encouraged and discouraged by what I've found so far. Encouraged because the installation (except for the DVD problem) isn't as bad as is made out - even by myself - and that there are things that can be done to make a difference. Discouraged because it does seem that there isn't as much scope for massive improvements as I had hoped. > Excellent work so far. Thanks! And it all started when pkgchck spat a core at me last week so I started to look at it.
