You're right, they don't.  That's something we should fix.  Generally, 
if you've just downloaded the Solaris images, you won't have any of 
these things and can just ignore this screen.

Yes, it is.

By convention, slice 2 is specified as the overlap slice, which provides 
access to the entire disk (or Solaris fdisk partition, on x86).  It's 
possible you'll find software that doesn't work correctly if you stray 
from that convention, so usually you should just leave it alone.

No, it's not OpenWindows, which has been mostly retired.  Generally, 
you'll want to use the X.org server on x86 systems, though the Sun X 
server is useful in some cases if you have problems with the X.org server.
