Kyle:

One way you can do this is to use the ai_target_device or target_device_select_volume_name. There is a bug where it does not check whether the disk have recommended size:

i.e:

<ai_target_device>
<target_device_name>c2t0d0</target_device_name>
</ai_target_device>

or:

New tag <target_device_select_volume_name> has been introduced
which allows to select target disk by volume name created by means
of format(1M) command, e.g..

format -d c0d0 > /dev/null 2>/dev/null - <<EOF
volname
"ai-disk"
y
quit
EOF

Appropriate snippet of AI manifest then would look like

<ai_target_device>
<target_device_select_volume_name>
    ai-disk
</target_device_select_volume_name>
</ai_target_device>

I have an x86 with 8 GB disk and this is how I get around to install it.

I've got a manifest that works fine on larger disks.
But when I try to install on an 8GB USB drive (don't ask!) I get
errors saying the recommended size drive for the install is 12GB (give
or take.)

I know I"m only installing about 1 - 1.5 GB, so I would think there is
plenty of room. Can I force it?
