Folks:
InterMapper 4.0.3 is now available. Two important bugs have been fixed recently.
- Windows users could see crashes when a page was sent via a modem (fixed in
4.0.3)
- There was a bug in notification schedules: anyone who had used InterMapper
Remote/Console 4.0 or 4.0.1 should check their Notification Schedules (fixed in
4.0.2)
In addition, Red Hat, Yellow Dog, and Mandrake Linux versions are available. A
full list of release notes follows this message. You can download the new
software from:

Please get back to us if you have questions, problems, or suggestions. Thanks.

PS InterMapper Remote/Console remains at version 4.0.2.
=========== Release Notes ===============
InterMapper(R) 4.0.3 - 12 March 2003
* [LATERAL] The Windows installer is now built with InstallShield, rather than
InstallAnywhere. This should be more reliable.
* [BUG FIX] Make XTickCount() in Windows thread-safe. This solves the problem of
ASSERTs failing in that routine when paging notifiers are fired.
* [BUG FIX] A race condition in the Windows serial port code has been fixed.
This should solve the problem of InterMapper hanging before dialing a pager or
failing to release the modem after dialing a pager.
* [BUG FIX] Changed the implementation of XTickCount() in (non-Darwin) Unix
builds to use a different API from gettimeofday().
* [BUG FIX] Made an attempt to work-around a possible bug in traversing the
ifTable of a particular vendor's equipment.
* [BUG FIX] Fixed an assertion fail bug in InterMapper Trad. (width >=
0#CStripChartPane.cp#1868).
* [BUG FIX] InterMapper now substitutes probe parameter values in the
<script-output> section of Custom TCP probes.
* [BUG FIX] InterMapper's built-in web server now handles URL's that have /%7E
in them.
* [BUG FIX] Commented out a debugging message of "ICMPSocketX:: wrong length"
since this is triggered quite often when running another ping program on the
same machine.
* [BUG FIX] Minor fix to minimize debug messages of the form ParseIfCounts:: not
found 1".
* [BUG FIX] Removed an empty sub-directory from the InterMapperHelp directory.
* [BUG FIX] InterMapper now tests repeated or delayed notifications for whether
they should be blocked at the time they would be sent, in addition to the time
when they are queued.
* [LATERAL] The Linux and FreeBSD builds of intermapperd now staticallly-link
the JPEG and PNG libraries.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
InterMapper(R) 4.0.2 - 5 March 2003
* [BUGFIX] IMPORTANT BUG FIX: If you used Versions 4.0 or 4.0.1, you must open
each Notifier Schedule and check the grid of hours to be sure they are correct.
There was a bug in earlier versions that misinterpreted the actual times you
specified in the schedule grid.
* [FEATURE] The APC UPS SNMP probe now puts a device in warning if it detects
that the battery needs to be replaced.
* [FEATURE] InterMapper supports probe files written in the "cross-platform"
style of IMML (ie using a backslash).
* [FEATURE] It is now possible to limit the number of rows reported by the
${PreviousOutages} macro on the web page; use the "maxrows=nn" or "hours=nn"
attributes.
InterMapper RemoteTM 4.0.2 Build 33051, 5 March 2003
* [LATERAL] Closing the Server Settings window now results in a confirmation
dialog if there are outstanding changes.
* [BUGFIX] Maps that are too large to be printed on a single page should now
print across several pages.
* [BUGFIX] Fixed a NullPointerException caused by the Add Device dialog on OS X.
* [BUGFIX] Fixed some minor graphical glitches in the Notifier Schedule pane.
* [BUGFIX] Fixed a bug that caused tear-off status windows to sometimes not
repaint correctly if the popup status window was also opened.
* [BUGFIX] Fixed a bug introduced in the last beta that could cause a user/group
to be deleted when its label changed.
