I didn't have that fancy stuff in the Chart Options dialog - I was running 4.0.3. So
I just upgraded to 4.1 and was able to find and delete the chart data file. I
probably should have closed the map before deleting the chart file - IM brought up the
crash dialog a few seconds after I dragged the data file into the trash. FYI, I
wasn't able to get the chart to forget the data until after I closed the map.

Thanks for the help!

Doug

Double-click in the chart to open the Chart Options dialog. Click on
the "Data" tab, then double-click on the data set whose data file you
want to find. This will open the "Edit Data Set..." dialog. Hold down
the command-key and click in the title of the window's title bar, and
select the first folder item from the popup menu. A Finder window will
open to that folder and the dataset file will be selected. Drag the
selected file to the trash.

Even though you've dragged the file to trash, InterMapper may still
have the file open. You will need to either close and reopen the map
file, quit and restart InterMapper, or perform the "Close & Forget
Data" option that you performed before, to force InterMapper to close
the old file and reopen the new one.
