Condition: Usage of disk "/Volumes/Nex2..." exceeds 90%.
This doesn't tell me which volume is actually running low on space because all the share points have a common naming convention where the first several letters are more or less the same. I would need "/Volumes/Nex2b_Freya" to know exactly which volume. Obviously, I could rename the volumes, but with "/Volumes/" in the message I would still have only four characters of the actual volume name.
So, is there any way to edit the MIB on the servers so that SNMP reports the friendly Mac name instead of the full mount point? Or can I somehow force Intermapper to report the entire string?
InterMapper is truncating the name. There's no way for you to force it to report the entire string. The character limit is generated mostly by a desire to keep the condition strings short (to be sensitive to other user comments), but the actual number (16) was pretty arbitrary, and there's no reason why I can't make it higher, which I'll do in the next release.
