Hi All,
I'm toying with showing the state of several InterMapper Maps on a
Google Map, and though some of you might wanna get a sneak peak - in
case you wanna play with it for your own NOC.
Status, Version 1
The map is working, and showing initial InterMapper status for 30+
Map Probes.
The mock-up does the following:
1: Fetch all locations via XML from our database
2: Fetch XML file with add-on lat/long info
3: Fetch InterMapper Status. XML via http export.
4: Combine the 3 above, and create 'markers' for the onces with lat/
long info.
ToDo List:
- Timed re-fetch InterMapper status and update markers.
- Move lat/long to database.
- Better integration between DB & InterMapper.
Right now, location ID is set as comment on the Map Probe and the
script use that to match up the link... I know, it's a hack!
- Maybe zoom/pan to locations with non-UP state.
Known Issues:
- IE/Win seems not to set the 'Status' right, so all icons might be
blue/unknown on IE. Right now, use Safari or Firefox..
