The first four of your requests are not in my area of expertise.

Right now it's just added in the center of the current window.
Adding it at the last point clicked on the map before choosing add
device could be a solution.
We hope to address this soon.
7 - Lots of small UI improvements in Remote. Mostly related to the
keyboard. Hitting enter in a lot of dialog boxes doesn't choose
the OK button, likewise you can't move the default button focus
from button to button. Choosing items from pull-downs with arrow
keys gets stuck at the first divider - like in the probes pull-down.
Please file a bug with specific examples (the probes pull-down
doesn't exist anymore).
8 - One final tiny item. The map image shown via the web server
appears to be about 25% larger than the one shown in Remote when
it's set to 100% zoom level.
4.4 should have addressed most of the inconsistencies between the web
server and Java client (mostly due to font differences). If there
are still differences, please file a detailed bug report listing them
along with screenshots if possible.
