I've never worked with NAGIOS probes/plugins before, so I thought I'd try the
default one in Intermapper as mentioned below (check_ping).

However, after setting the probe up and tweaking the thresholds, the probe
isn't working and I'm getting an error.

Here's the error:

NAGIOS Probe Performance Data: check_ping -H <NotFound=ADDRESS> -w 100,10% -c
1000,90%

Reason: Error attempting to execute command: Couldn't establish path. The
command "check_ping" is not available in the specified path (C:\Programs
Files\Intermapper\Intermapper Settings\Tools)

It would appear I am missing the probe? Intermapper is running the latest
version 5.0 on Windows Server 2003.

You may also need to right-click and choose Set Info->Set Thresholds
and increase the thresholds for round-trip time so that you don't get
a warning because of the long response time.

If everything else is taken care of, and the check_ping succeeds, you
should see the output from check_ping as the "Reason" in the status
window.
