So if I understood you correctly, what IM has right now is better for thousands of hosts then inheritance that can be overridden from the top if needed? Like I said, M$ Windows security permissions model should be taking as and example for the inheritance of notifiers. It allows for exceptions when needed and allows one to override all the exceptions if it got 'hairy'
