Thanks for your reply. That's an interesting way of achieving
redundancy.
In regards to your setup, does the secondary server share the same
Postgresql or backend database?
Could you provide more details on which files/folders you backup/sync
with the secondary server?

For the InterMapper Team at Dartware, is there an official best practice
to achieve redundancy?  For backup/sync setup like the one used by Scott
above, what files and folders should be backed-up or sync'ed?

We didn't get as advanced as some are asking for, but we do have a
backup 
server ready to go if the primary fails.

on our main server, we us Windows backup to backup the settings? folder
each 
night.
the backup is FTPed to a server located in a different location
the backup is restored on the secondary server

Note:
the IM service on the secondary server is set to manual.  When the
primary 
server goes done, we manually enable the service.
All the steps are automated via windows scheduler.
