Hello everyone. We have been trying to accomplish something here and have hit
a few road blocks. We use Intermapper to monitor a WAN, and have set up maps
for each LAN on the network. Our WAN is divided into regions, and each region
has it's own Intermapper server with a separate map for each LAN.

We are trying to find a way to grant users from each LAN read access to the
Intermapper map for their specific LAN, but not let them see other LANs. This
part is simple.

What has been causing problems is our authentication method. Essentially we
want to hook IMAuth to an Active Directory at the NOC, and then create nested
groups in that directory containing the users from each LAN. This way each LAN
admin can update their AD with new users and the NOC directory will always be
in sync.

IMAuth seems to authenticate fine when the user in question exists in the NOC
directory, however it doesn't appear to be able to authenticate users in any of
the nested groups. Our assumption is that IMAuth is just talking LDAP to
Active Directory and not really "integrating".

Has anyone had any experience with this sort of thing? Is there a way we can
formulate an authentication request so that these nested groups are searched?
