Hi Ed: You are correct that if you open a map and you had left the charts open during the previous session, the chart sizes and placement are restored.
My idea of a separate work space mechanism would allow you to view charts without having to first open maps. Consider the scenario where one map has 15 charts associated with it. I would like to see 12 of those charts from the same map on the one monitor, sized the same for comparison. But I would also like to see 4 of those charts from one map compared to one chart each from four other maps. A single workspace would allow me to open charts that may be sized and placed differently from one workspace to another without having to first open one or more maps. I hope that clarifies my wish list item better.
