Hello all, I searched but found nothing else on this topic, and I know from conversations with Dartware that it's a rare issue.
InterMapper Remote Access pauses on all of our machines (Mac or PC) for about 9 seconds, every minute or so. InterMapper RA is non-responsive during this pause, so you can imagine that this phenomenon is difficult to work with. The pause is NOT synchronized between user machines; that is to say, the pauses don't happen on different machines at the same time. Each machine seems to have its own "cycle". The pause only occurs when the Flows window is open. Close the Flows window, and the problem goes away. InterMapper and Flows both run on the same dedicated machine, a Mac Pro with 32GB of RAM and 8 cores. Flows data is stored on a 3 x SSD Level 0 RAID populated with SATA III OCZ Vertex drives. I've tried a variety of conntracksize, memcachesize, and storage interval settings, and also tried adjusting the amount of RAM InterMapper RA uses, all to no avail. The only other item of info I can think to mention is that we have 50+ sites, all reporting back to this one server, but I don't see any bandwidth restrictions anywhere. We're a mix of 10Mbps and 100Mbps connections, and our NOC connection is 1Gbps. Anyone got any ideas? It's annoying my boss enough that a change is increasingly being suggested, and I'd really rather stick with InterMapper. :( -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.intermapper.com/viewtopic.php?p=4128#4128 ____________________________________________________________________ List archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/intermapper-talk%40list.dartware.com/ To unsubscribe: send email to: [email protected]
