Hi MDBeckett, I've personally seen this pause and I did not have Flows open.
The quickest solution to it is to resize my window, then everything starts working immediately. I'm running it on a Windows 2008 box. My gut feeling is that it's java related. I upgraded my java version and co-incidentally, my InterMapper started freezing up.
