A helpful comment from ansidecl.h:
Attribute __malloc__ on functions was valid as of gcc 2.96.
I've confirmed that __attribute__((malloc)) is accepted
whereas __attribute_malloc__ is not. The inconsistency does
not surprise me considering the overall quality of GCC 2.96.
Anyway, I'll refine the version check later.
