| Hey all.
I should also mention I've got also got a good chance of using some mastering equipment to boost the levels, EQ, and clean up the audio a bit over the course of the transfer. As I said, I'll keep you all posted if I can get it okayed.

My understanding, we're looking to convert NTSC (region 1 USA correct?) video tapes to region free DVD?? NTSC... hmmm... I hadnt yet tried that on my new DVD recorder, so I looked in my tape collection for an old NTSC tape and found one. Tried to copy it... but it didnt turn out well. In PAL mode the picture is way out of sync, and in NTSC mode I somehow lose all colour.
It's probably best if someone in the US would connect his/her VHS player to a DVD recorder and did the whole thing in native NTSC.
Sorry if I got your hopes up too high ;-)
Cheers, Patrick

Hi Patrick,
They are all NTSC and I live in the US.

Clay,
I have a decent DVD recorder and a good VHS player, so I can digitize them. I've done it before, its not that hard. The resulting DVD is as good as the original. Are your tapes PAL or NTSC? In what country do you live?
Cheers, Patrick.

I have all of their videos and a couple of full-length shows, but no way to digitize them.? If anyone wants to post an ultra-cheap solution, I'll look into it.
