Ion3 debian unstable

I have Ion3 on a debian unstable version and everytime I start it I get this =>
Ion startup error log:
>>Unable to find 'cfg_panews' on search path.
>>Unable to find 'cfg_kludges' on search path.
I can then type in commands for say F3 or others. I hit enter and it
locks up. I'm no programer and have fidled around with out success.
Any help much appreciated.
